Chris Headlam » Managing Director »

Chris founded Orbital in 1993 from a long sound engineering background in the theatre and conference industries.

He lives in the country south of London with Niki and sons Daniel & Ken, surrounded by an ever changing accompaniment of animals both large and small.

Chris is gradually mastering the complex art of gardening but unexpectedly developed a mid-life petrol head crisis - resulting in him now racing a bright yellow Lotus Elise in the BritCar GT Endurance Championship ....

Not many people know that Chris once built an award winning Beach Buggy that was sadly engulfed by the waves off Southsea Beach during a disastrous and highly irresponsible camping weekend!

Jane Finlay » Personnel Director / Accounts »

Jane is Orbital's Personnel Director as well as having responsibility for the accounts department. Accounts seems to run in the family as Jane's Mum ran the accounts team within the family business for 35 years and after she retired, big brother Steve took over.

Jane started at Orbital in the spring of 1995; so, apart from Chris, she is the longest serving member of staff. Her background is in Conference Sound Engineering where she worked all over Europe after graduating from Mountview Theatre School. She says that it is important that the world should know that accounts people have feelings too - many people forget that we are human beings just like everyone else and after all - we are just doing our jobs!

Outside of work her real passion is riding horses and that is exactly what you will find her doing every weekend in Sussex. In a perfect world she says she would work from her seaside home at the end of a computer link so that she could ride every day!

Luke Hyde » Director of International Theatrical Operations / Project Manager »

Luke joined Orbital back in 2001.

Luke is in charge of the team overseeing all things theatre. In that role he is the company's chief purchaser - which goes some way to explain why at Christmas he always seems to have more bottles of wine on his desk than anyone else!

Luke is a self-proclaimed "King of DIY", having built his own conservatory, kitchen & outdoor spa, and is believed to be on the verge of rebuilding his latest dream house ...

Eric Simpson » Event & Comms Director »

Eric put away his touring boots in 2001.

Following 8 years working as a BT Outside Broadcast Microwave Transmission Engineer, Eric went on to gain 21 years experience as a FOH Engineer / System Technician touring theatres, arenas and stadii all over the globe.

He worked with an astonishing array of names with stories to match!

Eric joined the board of directors in June 2010, in charge of pushing forward our event and communication activities.

Bill Addison » Technical Director »

Bill has been with Orbital since 2002 and specializes in Comms and RF, duties alongside the mighty weight of heading Orbital's Technical Support and FIXIT divisions.

He is now our Technical Director - responsible for all things technical across the group.

Bill's background is in electronic engineering. He enjoys reading, crosswords, travelling and walking - especially in Snowdonia. Did you know that the average age of our Tech Support team is 29.6? - and that they think they are all really good lookin?

Some say Bill is the "Stig".

Tom Byrne » Sales Director »

Thomas joined the company in 1997 and is now of director of Pro Audio Sales.

Tom has huge experience of the company so he really knows how Orbital and the industry ticks.

He enjoys clay pigeon shooting, fly fishing, surfing, diving, wake boarding, fine wines and fine beers - so Tom organizes many successful company outings!
