Core Elements
guidePORT Receiver
Just four buttons are enough to ensure convenient operation of the basic functions. Each visitor can set the desired volume, stop the information programme or simply play it again.
Models with more buttons and other functions:
- Four buttons - and voilà! These allow the visitor to set the desired volume and to stop or replay the audio sequences as required.
- The recordings in the guidePORTs can be changed flexibly and at short notice - new and additional information can be downloaded "on the move".
- All models are designed to be able to receive live recordings. This means you can reliably communicate with your visitors from your central offices at all times.
Headphones
The ultra-lightweight (stereo) Sennheiser headphones sit comfortably on the ear and guarantee an uncompromising experience in hi-fi quality.
Identifier GPID 3200
The identifiers, which are invisible to visitors, are positioned either on or next to the exhibits. Each identifier has a special ID code that it transmits constantly. As soon as visitors enter the magnetic field of the identifier, the guidePORT picks up the identifier code and triggers transmission of the appropriate recording. The strength of the magnetic field is such that it poses no risk whatsoever to health. The range of the continuous signal can be flexibly set between 30 cm and 3 m. The range can be easily extended and areas clearly delimitated with the installation of additional elements.
This means that every single visitor can enjoy his or her own tailor-made tour from the word go, without queues or delays.
Nevertheless, recordings can be interrupted for announcements, warnings or other organisational information.
Mobile Transmitter and Microphone
The mobile transmitter together with a wireless microphone allow you to address visitors as a separate group, e.g. during guided tours of towns or plants or your exhibition. Other guidePORT users do not receive the transmission. The system's modular design gives you the freedom you need - depending on your requirements, an individual guidance system of this type can be integrated into a more complex, bigger configuration.
The mobile transmitter SK 3202
With the mobile transmitter SK 3202 from Sennheiser, you can offer your visitors guidePORT system guided tours. The transmitter guarantees excellent clarity, even over larger distances. As a result, there is no crowding and the guided tour does not affect other visitors. Those on the guided tour are able to move around freely.
What's more, with SK 3202 you have the option of integrating an external stereo audio source (e.g. CD player) - allowing you to create first-class, customised tours, either with elements of an existing guidePORT installation or, indeed, with live elements.
The mobile transmitter - together with all the guidePORTs which are to be issued for the guided tour - are set up conveniently, safely and simply prior to the tour.
Once the tour is over, the visitors can go on to enjoy an automatically guided tour.
Cell transmitter and active antennas
Live recordings are also transmitted via the cell transmitters and antennas. The announcement function of the guidePORT software thus always you to "speak" directly to the receivers in all exhibition areas.
The unobtrusive antennas radiate the audio signal wirelessly to the guidePORTs in every part of the room. As such, the "on air" broadcasting of rapidly changing information to the exhibition areas is possible via the cell transmitters and antennas - e.g. when a live event is being presented. The visitor's guidePORT receives the latest recordings as soon as this is possible.
Charging Units
The charging units are not only used to store the receivers, but also to ensure that they are always ready for use. And that's not all: if required, they can be combined with check-out systems, thereby enabling the individual configuration process to be automated as far as possible. Statistics on visitor behaviour are also extracted here and transferred to a computer.
System Software
The system software from guidePORT assists you in organising your exhibition and matching the audio information with the corresponding exhibits: the visitor then hears his selected programme - in the right place, version and language.
The central PC is necessary for system configuration but not for ongoing operation. It supplies the data to the cell transmitters, which, together with the other system components, provide visitors with the appropriate information during their tour.
However, in order to make live announcements, a central PC is required for day-to-day operation.
For extra flexibility: the guidePORT system software is all set up to work with CMS components (Content Management System).
Statistics Software
The guidePORT Statistic Manager program separately "reads" each guidePORT receiver when it is handed back at the end of a tour. Statistics such as where the visitor went and how long he was there can be simply and quickly established.
This allows you to create comprehensive visitor and movement profiles: vital information when it comes to making your exhibition even more visitor-oriented and offering additional services. A souvenir shop or restaurant can be included in the analysis.
At the end of the tour, the visitor can be offered a print-out showing his personal route through the exhibition. This will tell him not only what he has seen, but also what he has missed; encouraging him to make a second visit.
Announcement Software
Given the appropriate technology, all visitors receive information wirelessly via radio, you can therefore address them directly at any time and publicise specials events and facilities which you offer, e.g. a central information centre or reception.
Announcements can be made ad hoc or played automatically in freely selectable cycles. This, of course, requires that there are sufficient cell transmitters and antennas in all exhibition areas.
