TRX900 LT Digital Wireless Transmitter
The TRX900LT combines crystal clear digital wireless transmission, a built-in backup recorder and remote control functionality via ZaxNet into a single, lower-cost system for episodic television production, motion picture and broadcast events. Designed to be lightweight and durable, the TRX900LT is housed in a high strength, impact resistant nylon polymer casing that provides protection from both corrosion and water damage.
Like all Zaxcom digital wireless, the TRX900LT features 100% digital transmission for audio quality that rivals a hard-wired system and is fully encrypted to eliminate the possibility of production audio interception and theft. It features our patented internal timecode referenced back-up recorder, which backs up the transmitted audio onto a removable microSD card eliminating the possibility of audio loss due to interference or signal dropout. The TRX900LT operates for up to five hours on a single AA lithium battery and is fully compatible with all Zaxcom wireless receivers and IFB transmitters.
The TRX900LT is also fully compatible with ZaxNet, Zaxcom's new 2.4-GHz RFnetwork that enables the distribution of remote control signals, timecode, IFB audio, and metadata. With ZaxNet, TRX900LT users can remotely control gain settings and replay audio via a timecode reference giving production sound mixers the ability to replay and remix audio, creating a virtual multi-track playback and re-record system.

The TRX900 system is a remarkable product line. It simply it re-writes everything we have become used to in radio mic technology. Gone is any sense of compression, no noise reduction, com-panders or preemphasis/de-emphasis - and instead we have a totally open and natural sound with a dynamic range of 106dB - it is unlike anything else I have ever worked with before - put simply you can no longer hear the radio microphone at work, its as transparent as a quality cabled microphone.
The TRX900 uses conventional frequency range between 518 - 870 MHz but due to its use of 100% digital modulation is very considerably less prone to intermodulation. 30 plus channels can be fitted into a single 30Mhz wide frequency range, meaning a theoretical 200 plus units can be used simultaneously in the UK. The Digital modulation also means clashes & drop outs are minimized - but even if a drop out does occur the digital receiver patches the sound so the effect is often impossible to detect.

The TRX900 uses the industry standard Lemo 3 pin connector, and is available powered by either two AA or one CR123 cells, giving up to five and a half hours battery life. But that's only the start of it. Arguably the world's best sounding radio mic can be remotely controlled using the IFB900 - IFB Remote Controller. This hand held battery powered device communicates with as many TRX900 transmitters as required and allows remote control of settings such as body pack audio gain, RF channel and high-pass filter - even while the transmitter is in use passing audio. It's an absolutely invaluable tool allowing the sound designer to fine tune transmitter settings and gain thresholds without interfering with the actors performance. Because the IFB900 works with RF data, as opposed to Infra Red data it is immune from interference from low frequency lighting and the actors receiver can be hidden under costume. IFB900 control has an effective range of 100m.

Equally unique to the industry is the matching RX4900 rack-mount receiver unit. 4 individual receivers are packed into a single 1U high enclosure with each channel sporting a full function LED display. Uniquely each receiver channel is actually compatible with stereo transmission Zaxcom products, and so sports 8 XLR3 outputs.
RX4900 receivers can be linked together to allow up to 16ch to operate from one set of aerials with out the need for external antenna distribution and have built in headphone monitoring across all channels with no additional hardware.
The Zaxcom system comes fully proven with complete systems used by the following West End and Touring shows:
"Sunday In The Park With George" - Wyndham's Theatre, Charing Cross Road
"Cabaret" - Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue
"Little Shop of Horrors" - Duke of York's Theatre
"The Producers" - first ever UK national tour
