The Orbital Studio is fully equipped to cover all your Sound Effects, Click Track and Voice Over needs. Situated deep in the basement of Orbital, this custom built, acoustically treated room is finished with a sound proofed recording room, custom control suite, and lounge area.
The studio features a twenty-four channel ProTools system based on twin G4 Apple Macs. It also includes a full Carillon PC system running Cubase, Logic, Audition and Cool Edit, complete with twenty-four channels of MOTU audio interface. This is built around a ninety six channel Yamaha DM2000 mixing console feeding a full Genelec surround sound monitoring system.
Outboard electronics can be freely pulled from our warehouse based rental stock, but standard fixtures in the studio include Avalon channel strips, Lexicon reverbs, Neuman Microphones, and TL Audio valve preamps. Playback and recording is amply covered by a selection of CD and Minidisc machines as well as Tascam twenty four channel hard disk recorders and a complete portfolio of Akai samplers. There are also various musical instruments, as well as a Revox reel-to-reel tape recorder and a digital access point for the online sound effects library.
The studio is supported by our in-house technical support and sound design team who can lend assistance where required, both with technical aspects, and also with creative ideas and suggestions.
